Desire Njamwea attained Bachelor of Laws from Moi University in the year 2009, he attained his Post-graduate Diploma in Law in the 2011 and was admitted to the bar in December 2011. He attained his Master of Laws in International Human Rights from the University of Pretoria in the year 2012. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Arbitrators and a trained mediator.
He has worked with Civil societies in the areas of human rights and social rights. He has consulted for the government and participated in policy and legislation making. He has consulted for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning in the development of the National Slum Upgrading and Prevention Policy, consulted for the government in the development of the Eviction and Resettlement Law, participated in reviewing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights among others. He has participated on the implementation of the current land laws.
He is the face behind the firm’s strong advocacy and approach on human rights. He is passionate about social justice for all. Besides human rights, he is well grounded in conveyancing, commercial law, oil and gas law. He has over 10 years of experience of legal practice.
Desire Njamwea also doubles up as law lecturer and acts as the link between the firm and the academia. He is also behind the firm’s legal aid work. The incorporation of the academia and legal aid work offers the firm an up to date analysis of issues and in-depth research thus positioning the firm to offer current legal services to the satisfaction of all our clients.
